Český Krumlov – castle and town, UNESCO site, 9-11hrs

"One day in the fairy tale." The charming renaissance Cesky Krumlov castle and town was a centre of the southern Bohemia since the 13th century. It`s a complex of forty buildings, situated around five castle courts and a nice castle park (7 hectares). Krumlov is the second largest castle in the Czech Republic, listed by the UNESCO as the World Heritage sight.

In the vicinity flourished one of the most beautiful historical towns of Europe with 300 protected medieval buildings. Local picturesque streets maintain the medieval atmosphere. The town is full of small galleries, local restaurants and cafés, traditional shops with crystal and handicrafts. There is also a museum and unique Baroque theatre in the castle, one of the oldest theatres of Europe.

You can combine this tour with: České Budějovice, Budweiser Brewery, nature trail on the Kleť hill, birds observing at the lakes, magnificent chateau Hluboká or spa town Třeboň.

Approximate Itinerary:

8:00 am recommended departure time from Prague, 10:00 am tour of the town followed by lunch or snack, 1:00 pm castle tour, 2:00 pm castle gardens, 3:00 pm continue sightseeing, 4:00 pm depart Český Krumlov, 6:00 pm arrive Prague

Sightseeing options

1. Castle interiors tour (60min) – original Renaissance and Baroque castle interiors (16th - 18th centuries). Price: 300 CZK, open April - October, closed on MONDAYS! Reservation necessary! Please let us know if you wish to do the tour, we`ll make a reservation for you.
2. Completely original baroque theatre (45min) – a monument of world importance, well preserved. Price: 360 CZK, open April - October, closed on Mondays! Reservation necessary! Please let us know if you wish to do the tour, we`ll make a reservation for you. 
3. Castle Museum + Castle Tower (60min) – historical museum + the main view point of the town. Price: 280 CZK Open all year including Mondays.
4. Castle Baroque Stables – exhibit of valuable textiles, leather and metal. Price: 80 CZK, open July and August, closed on Mondays!
5. Ceske Budejovice – historical town of Budweis, very large medieval square (short visit 30 min).
6. Budweiser Brewery – stop for souvenirs and beer tasting (20 min), or join the beer factory tour 60min). Price: 250 CZK, open every day. Reservation necessary! Please let us know if you wish to do the tour, we`ll make a reservation for you. 
7. Hluboka Chateau – one of the most beautiful castles of the Czech Republic, looks like the Windsor Castle in the UK. You can stop by for 30 min - see exteriors, or visit the interiors 60-90 minutes. Please let us know ahead of time if you wish to take a tour of Hluboka.

If you decide during the day that you`d like to extend the lenght of the tour it`s not a problem. The price is 1900 CZK per every additional hour.
